Process
The first part to any project is research, with the theme being Easter other wise known as Resurrection Sunday, biblical passages, tradition and literary technique heavily influence this project. Hence the 3 Rs in this series: Reborn, Rest & Rise. These three Rs being three fundamental pillars to the Christian faith and the beautiful Christ that Christians gaze upon. He is the one who promises to give us rest, rebirth and for us to rise just as He did.
The circular holder also has it's symbolism and representations with the flower on it being a mustard seed, which speaks to the verse Matthew 17:20, to have faith even as small as a mustard seed. Like any seed these grow. With intentful research and purpose fleshed out, the next part was symbolism and visualization after several reiterations of sketches for each topic I settled with the rolled away tomb, Jesus' crown of thorns and a living soul.
Once sketches were complete they were refined. Refined art was then formatted for illustrator and converted into vector lines and
shapes with black and red. This was to communicate in the same language as the laser cutter. Bass wood was purchased and used.
Once the shapes and designs were etched and cut out wood-staining as a finish was applied. After that dried the key-chain links were finally attached.
